WBC Hosts Panel on WeForShe Initiative

Key industry leaders from the private and public sector joined United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka to discuss what women in the construction industry can do as a community to foster greater gender equality in the workplace at WBC’s WeForShe panel.

Last week’s panel opened the door to continue this important dialogue in the future as WBC continues the WeForShe initiative in partnership with the United Nations.

City to Provide On-The-Go Service to Small Businesses

The city is set to debut its first mobile outreach vehicle to serve small businesses. The $400,000 freightliner will serve as a satellite office for the Department of Small Business Services Workforce1 center. The vehicle will start by visiting several HireNYC sites, subsidized construction projects where the developer has pledged to hire from the local community, the vehicle will then make the trip to more remote and low-income neighborhoods.
