PUBLIC POLICY
WBC’s Public Policy Committee drives conversation on diversity and inclusion, gender equality, and equal opporunity, locally and regionally. The committee reviews legislation, policy initiatives, and regulations impacting Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and women and minorities in the workforce. Committee members paricipate in annual events, provide input on imporant policy initiatives and attend meetings with key legislative, government and industry stakeholders.
DIVERSITY COUNCIL
WBC’s Diversity Council suppors women of color and all gender identities, creating programming to help them thrive in the construction industry, producing publications and events designed to increase awareness of DEI-related issues. The Council focuses its efors on building an inclusive environment within WBC, providing businessenhancing resources and programming specially designed for women. The Diversity Council helps WBC serve its core mission: empowering women and promoting diversity throughout the construction industry.

Comprised largely of insurance industry professionals, the Insurance Committee examines issues related to the rising costs of insurance and develops educational programs and publications that provide guidance and clarity on insurance matters speciic to the construction industry. The committee also reviews Labor Law 204-241 Reform, OCIPS, ADR and other trending topics.

WBC’s Events and Education Committee drives the organization’s industry presence, strengthens relationships throughout the private and public sectors and generates operating revenue. The committee plans and executes meetings, roundtables, conferences and events, including AIM National Leadership Forum, Champion Awards, Golf Outing, WeforShe Diversity Forum and Our Stories.
MEMBERSHIP
WBC’s Membership Committee assists in developing and implementing successful membership strategies that will encourage new members, both individual and corporate. It’s an excellent way to enhance your relationships with colleagues and new business prospects
BUILD WOMEN PROGRAM
WBC has launched this new leadership training program speciically designed for women in the skilled workforce. The aim is to enlist industry professionals to paricipate in coaching and peer mentoring and share strategies and skills members need to take full advantage of career opporunities. The program is designed for women in the unionized building trades skilled labor workforce, including apprentices, journeywomen, forewomen and supervisors.
SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE
The Sustainability Committee is dedicated to developing WBC’s activities concerning environmental, social and governance (ESG) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These goals will be enacted via webinars, brieing papers and other programming that highlight the imporance of sustainability in the build environment, and how the industry can build greener, more sustainable projects.

The Design-Build Committee’s goal is to educate and inform all industry stakeholders on issues related to design-build and their impact on subcontractors, MWBEs and the industry at large. The Design-Build Committee meets periodically and hosts special webinars on topics of imporance to the industry.
AMBASSADORS COUNCIL
WBC’s Ambassadors Council is composed of the construction industry’s emerging women leaders from the private, public and institutional sectors who provide WBC with perspectives on leadership, career growth, skill development, corporate culture and other topics related to professional and personal advancement. The Council also has a Mentorship Program and Career and Professional Development Committee, which aim to connect members with paricipating educational institutions to encourage women to grow and thrive in the building industries
