WBC’s Events and Education Committee drives the organization’s industry presence, strengthens its relationships throughout the private and public sectors, and generates operating revenue for the organization. The committee is responsible for planning and executing WBC’s meetings, roundtables, conferences and events – large and small. Major events include AIM National Leadership Forum, Champion Awards, Golf Outing, WeforShe Diversity Forum, and Our Stories, among other seminars and webinars. PUBLIC POLICY. Respected throughout the industry as the leading voice for women in the building industry, WBC’s Public Policy Committee drives conversation on diversity and inclusion, gender equality, and equal opportunity both locally and regionally. The committee is responsible for reviewing legislation, policy initiatives, and regulations that impact Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) as well as women and minorities in the workforce and workplace. Committee members participate in annual events, provide input on important policy initiatives, and attend meetings with key legislative, government and industry stakeholders. MEMBERSHIP. WBC’s Membership Committee assists in developing and implementing successful membership strategies that will encourage new members, both individual and corporate. It’s an excellent way to connect your relationship with your colleagues and new business prospects. AMBASSADORS COUNCIL. WBC’s Ambassadors Council is composed of the construction industry’s emerging women leaders from the private, public, and institutional sectors. Ambassadors provide WBC and the construction industry with their perspectives on leadership, career growth, skill development, corporate culture and other topics related to professional and personal advancement. Two new initiatives include the Council’s Mentorship Program and its Career and Professional Development Committee, which aim to connect our members with participating educational institutions to encourage women to grow and thrive in the building industries. committees, councils, Our programs are committed to examine issues and develop solutions to challenges faced by women and women-owned construction firms, large and small.
