We are pleased to inform the WBC leadership and members that we have once again been successful in securing from the New York City Council a $70,000 grant for WBC's various outreach programs.

While many other organizations were either denied funding or received reduced funding due to the severity of the city budget crisis, Women Builders Council has had its request fully funded.

We deeply appreciate City Council Speaker Christine Quinn's continued support of WBC and its efforts to enhance the role of women in the construction and building fields.

Our efforts were made easier by the solid reputation that WBC has established in the span of only a few years of existence.

Repeatedly we were told by Council Members of their knowledge of WBC's strong advocacy and leadership. They expressed to us their appreciation that WBC has always been willing to consult with and provide information to the Council and its staff. They are pleased that WBC has provided important testimony at many of the Council's public hearings.

On a separate topic, we will be providing you with information concerning the WBC legislative trips to Washington and Albany shortly. Plans are also underway for this year's breakfast with City Council Members.
